About me

Ulrike Kessler

For almost twenty-five years I have been fascinated with homeopathy. After my MSc in chemistry at the University Freiburg, Germany, and my vocational training in Transactional Analysis, I prepared for the Heilpraktiker examination in 1984. During that time – partly because of my own experience with ill health – I discovered homeopathy. Subsequently, I pursued an education in homeopathy – as was usual at that time – through numerous seminars and supervision.

My intention to systematise my own homeopathic education led me into national and international professional politics. There I had the opportunity to take some responsibility within the area of homeopathic education and vocational training. As representative and education officer to the European Council for Classical Homeopathy, ECCH, I was for example, responsible for the second edition of the European Guidelines for homeopathic education of 2000. There an international working group of homeopathic educators tried to define some quality standards for homeopathic education in Europe.

I have been teaching homeopathy since 1992. Time and again I have realized how much I am actually learning while teaching. I come from a family with many (female) teachers, and I never realized how much I enjoyed teaching before I experienced it for myself! For more see Curriculum vitae.

Alongside with my growing private practice I have started to translate the books of Catherine R. Coulter into German and to publish my own essays. At the moment, I am working on a book on homeopathic case analysis. For more information see Publications.

For a fairly long time, I have been passing on my experience to advanced students and colleagues, as well as  running my own teaching practice in Basel. There I offer regular small group practical education courses and supervision for advanced students as well as for practitioners. For more see Clinical Training and Supervision.

Last but not least, I have several Hobbies to balance my interesting and versatile, but sometimes quite stressful professional practice.
